Mission and Programs

Aid for Women is a not-for-profit organization established in 1978 to empower individuals to make choices consistent with the dignity of the human person and the family. We are the only life-affirming pregnancy center in Chicago’s downtown Loop with a second location in Berwyn. We give each client unconditional compassion while we discuss the development of her baby, abortion procedures and their risks, adoption possibilities, the benefits of abstinence until marriage, and a range of women’s health issues. Our message − of positive alternatives to abortion, the dignity and value of chastity, and the noble and sacred role of motherhood − is communicated to an ethnically diverse population of women drawn from all sections of the Chicago Metropolitan area.

Balance Sheet Fiscal Year Ending December 31, 2015

Total Note: The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot survive long, but the types of assets and liabilities also must be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan, and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
