For more than a decade, GuideStar has promoted voluntary nonprofit transparency and accountability, key components of earning public trust, by engaging in a dialogue with thousands of nonprofits, donors, and elected officials throughout the country. This month, I’m pleased to bring you two articles that will help further inform your thinking on these important issues.
Senator Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) co-sponsored the Charity, Aid, Recovery, and Empowerment (CARE) Act in the 108th Congress and supports its passage by the present Congress as part of the M.O.R.E. Act. Diana Aviv, president and CEO of Independent Sector, has spent much of the past year serving as executive director of the Panel on the Nonprofit Sector Act.
