Leadership Statement:

Imagine a land trust that sees the landscape through the eyes of bobcats and warblers—that understands the land as nature functions and our place in it. Imagine a land trust sharing the vision of protected land networks, wildlife preservation, and small villages spanning the Northwest Corner of Connecticut and beyond. Imagine a land trust with large blocks of forests and mountains that are home to large beasts, like moose and mountain lion, stretching across backyards, towns, counties, and state lines. Imagine a land trust that appreciates the ramifications of climate change and is working to protect animal corridors to help species survive, and to keep our water clean and our air cool. Weantinoge is such a land trust, with those visions and values . . . saving mountainous blocks, wildlife corridors, rural landscapes, old-growth forests, beautiful meadows, working farms, expansive wetlands, and always connecting the land to people.
