<p >National Night Out against crime is an annual free event that is hosted by the 109th Precinct Community Council and targets the general population in the Flushing, Whitestone, and College Point area. Last year, over 2,000 people attended the event. National Night Out is an event held nationwide by law enforcement agencies since 1984. It provides a setting where citizens, civic groups, businesses, local elected officials and law enforcement agents can gather in an effort to strengthen their partnership and enhance quality of life in their neighborhoods. The event is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness and generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts.</p>

Program Description:
<p >The 109th Precinct Community Council sponsors aYouth Art Program in which students from local schools compete for prizes. The program is supervised by the Youth Officers and the winners are awarded at our annual Community Breakfast. Their art work is displayed at the New York City Police Museum.</p>
