Impact Summary from the Nonprofit
Unemployment in Israel is at an all-time high. According to government statistics, over 1.6 million live in poverty including over 775,000. Government assistance for these families is down due to the high expenditures for security. The result has been a significant increase in malnutrition with the resultant health problems for the elderly, and behavioral and learning problems for the young. Hazon Yeshaya is trying to alleviate the problem with food assistance and free dental care for immediate relief and vocational training as a long term solution.
