<p>Accomplishments<strong></strong></p> <ul><li>More than 250 bags of clothes are given away each fall in the largest clothing give-away drive in Pittsburgh (project ALIVE)</li><li>Over 1632 breakfasts served to the poor at Labor Hall annually-;</li><li>Hundreds of men and women helped in vocational training and job fairs;</li><li>Eight different activities offered at&nbsp;5 shelters, a women&#8217;s discussion group, a Sunday worship service,&nbsp;1 chapel service, 3 Bible study, and 2 devotions every week;</li><li>Implantation of a nine-month transitional housing, training and discipleship program for homeless men (Project LIFE);</li><li>One abandoned house fully renovated and functioning as ministry offices and transitional housing;</li><li>Summer education program for Christian teenagers to gain first-hand experience in outreaching the homeless and needy</li><li>More than 2500 homeless are being served through our various programs.</li></ul> <embed id="embed_npwlo" type="application/npwlo" height="0">

Program Description:

Weekly visits to Pleasant Valley Shelter (Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday), Wellsprings (Thursday), Light of Light (Tuesday and Wednesday), Miryams (Wednesday) and Womanspace East (Monday). There we host a Bible study, book club, and play games and build relationships with people by exposing our lives and listening to the stores of the homeless.

Program Description:

It is an yearly festival for homeless&nbsp;at Allegheny Commons Park where the homeless are served food and given winter clothes. Volunteers interact with homeless through games, trivia, worship, prayer, and acts and crafts. Happens on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

Program Description:

Host a comprehensive job fair for the homeless three times a year at Allegheny Center Alliance Church in March, August, and December. This job fair is selective and not only provides opportunities for employment, but teaches job readiness and job retention. Classes are taught in the morning followed by lunch and opportunities to meet with prospective employers. Resumes are written for each participant and each participant is followed up with until employment is obtained.

Program Description:

This project&nbsp;starts&nbsp;at Bellefield church in Oakland.&nbsp;The staff and volunteer&nbsp;cook 60 breakfast sandwiches at 5:00am.&nbsp;After the breakfast&nbsp;are made, they&nbsp;transport breakfasts to Northside and Wilkinsburgh Labor Ready. Breakfasts&nbsp;are served to homeless and very low incomers who&nbsp;are seeking temporary manual labor&nbsp;jobs.&nbsp;&nbsp;It is followed by a Bible study for anyone interested in participating.
