Impact Summary from the Nonprofit
The BMRC was open to the public free of charge to the general public for more than 900 hours for FY2010. We received a documented 354 visitors, 4 families of 3 or more people, 1 Boy Scout Troops and 2 Senor Leagues into the BMRC clubhouse. This does not include any visitors which attended the three module and vendor shows. We provided the general public with access to our layouts in order to share our interest and collective knowledge of model railroading and railroading history thru discussions and conversations with the visitors. We compare model railroading operation with prototypical operation of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe and other railroads, educate the visitors on railroad safety, and use visual aids such as videos, maps, and switch boards to foster learning and understanding of railroads in general. The goals for 2011 are to finish our Web Site, and complete our rebuild of old room exhibit.

Program Description:
BMRC operating costs are minimal therefore we are able to offer our programs free of charge to the public. BMRC has no paid officers or employees nor do we take part in professional fund raisers. Currently BMRC is extending our layout into another room of the museum. The majority of our current fund rising is for this new room. The goal is to have the new room operational and scenery complete by the end of 2009, early 2010. Our income base is from public donations received from a donation box, membership dues of normally $15 annually and money collected during semiannual modular/vendor shows.
