Profile:

Kris Kelly founded the Kris Kelly Foundation in 2006. The Kris Kelly Foundation is a New Hope Partner with LAAS and a partner with the LA County shelters....also Coachella, Riverside, and Moreno Valley Shelters also.

Leadership Statement:

The Kris Kelly Foundation has taken on the responsibility of rescuing and adopting some of the most difficult cases.  We take great pride in our efforts, our successes and even our failures.  Our Foundation has provided animals with human kindness, shown them warmth, love and attention through our network of “foster parents”.  Teaching the animals how to communicate and relate with people and invigorating the spirit that has so often been lost.   The Foundation survives solely on the generosity of our donors.  One hundred percent of our donations are applied to the care and well being of the animals we have taken into our Foundation.  We have no paid employees or foster parents.  Everyone associated with The Kris Kelly Foundation is a volunteer.   The Kris Kelly Foundation wants to play a part in teaching the world the profound love and affection one can have caring for an animal.  It is one of our primary goals to help people find their own humanity through the love of animals.

Program: The Kris Kelly Foundation Traps Feral Cats in West L.A.

Budget:
$200
Category:
Animal-Related
Population Served:
General Public/Unspecified

Program Description:

The Kris Kelly Foundation trapped neutered/spayed a small colony of cats that live in West Los Angeles. There were 3 kittens that got homes but the others had to remain in the colony. There was one cat that was the Mama that could not be caught with a regular trap. Fix Nation let them borrow what is called a drop trap (as you can see in the pictures below). Mama was caught and will be spayed at Fix Nation tomorrow morning and returned back to the colony. Please remember to learn about trap neuter release also dubbed TNR and help any stray cat in your neighborhood get sterilized before it gets out of control. The poor kittys live a hard life on the streets and we at The Kris Kelly Foundation want to prevent future kittys from that life. So please get involved in your neighborhoods and save a life. Remember to always spay and neuter your pets!

Program Long-Term Success:

To date all of the cats/kittens remain in their forever homes!  This is truly a success story for each of them.

Program Short-Term Success:

In the short term, we had plenty of expenses, much over budget.  Medical for the most part, but we managed.

Program Success Monitored by:

The Kris Kelly Foundation

Program Success Examples:

One of the kittens was placed with our treasurer, Leigh Ann Conway.  She has raised the little one to be a happy, healthy part of her family of animals and children.  The kitty continues to be loved and comforted by being part of a family.  Even though this kitten was semi-feral, she thrives in a home with other cats and a dog.  We believe this is testament to the notion that ALL animals understand compassion, affection, security and love.

Program: Spay and Neuter Project

By spay and neutering we can achieve no-kill and stop the suffering of stray animals on the streets.

Impact Summary from the Nonprofit Additional Information A Charting Impact Report consists of an organization’s responses to the five questions. Helping validate this self-reported data are three reviews. Once an organization has used the online interface to complete its report, its responses will produce a document with a unique URL that will be shared on this website, on your GuideStar profile, on the reports of charities participating in BBB Wise Giving Alliance evaluations, and – in the future – with other websites and information sources about nonprofits. We encourage organizations to use this URL to share their report on their own website and through their own media channels. Participants will receive guidance about promoting their Charting Impact Report, along with other benefits, once they publish their report.

The Kris Kelly Foundation has saved a vast number of dogs, cats, rabbits, even guinea pigs in the years since our inception.  This past year the Kris Kelly Foundation rescued approximately 1000 animals in need.   An example of our work is a current situation involving almost 100 cats/kittens.  A woman passed away leaving almost 100 cats in need of homes.  Our Foundation took in ALL of the cats and provided them with much needed medical care, dental care, spay/neuter, microchipping, etc.  Everything they needed to be happy, healthy members of a family.  Almost every cat has been placed in a permanent home.  This is just one example of the extreme cases that our Foundation has taken on.    One of our primary goals is to educate the public about animal welfare, and the joys and benefits of adoption.  We work with children, teaching them to interact with animals and the proper care and handling of animals.  We work with senior citizens, bringing the joy of having animals in their lives to them.  A primary relationship we have developed is with Sunrise Senior Center in Beverly Hills, California.  We bring dogs and cats in for visits and adoption events.  The happiness and cheer these animals bring is amazing to watch.  This is a relationship our Foundation truly cherishes.
