Program Description:
TNT Youth Group serves individuals 15 to 23 years old. Through workshops, seminars, activities, and one-on-one discussions, we provide instruction on relevant issues, strengthen friendships, and build courage and self-esteem that have often been damaged by the events and experiences of life. TNT Youth Group workshops focus on prevention and cover topics including success for teens, relationships, sexually transmitted diseases, physical abuse, alcohol abuse, and drug awareness. Through guest speakers, debates, and peer testimonials on the dangers of drugs and alcohol, TNT Youth Group motivates youth to make choices that give them a promising future. TNT Youth Group is a space where young people can express themselves, meet other people, and support and help each other reach their goals in life. We help young people develop into leaders by teaching them skills at seminars and workshops offered in the community.
Program Long-Term Success:
This is an ongoing program throughout the year. We want to have an average weekly attendance of 45 to 65 female and male participants. We want to be allowed to invite middle school and high school students in our community with the school's authorization. We want to motivate 100% of young people attending the program to invite friends weekly. We will support our attendees to participate in Youth Leadership Programs with other organizations. We would like for them to attend at least one seminar a year with Youth Specialties. One of our main objectives is for them to find a safe place to open their hearts and look for help.
Program Short-Term Success:
Our group started in 2008 with an attendance of 8 persons per week. We have increased to an average of 20 to 30 persons per week. 75% of the people that attend our workshops come back on a continuous basis.
Program Success Monitored by:
One of our tools to measure success is the attendance and participation of the attendees. Enthusiasm to invite new people to the group. The testimonies of changed lives due to our program is a means of measuring success. We are in the process of elaborating a survey to measure the opinion of the people that already attend our workshops and their needs.
Program Success Examples:
<div>We have a girl in our group that had decided to start dealing drugs in order to help her family financially. After attending one of our workshops where the speaker talked to the group about his terrible experience in drug dealing, the girl decided to open up with us telling us what her intentions were before listening to this person and that she was thankful that he had convinced her not do go through with her plans.</div>
<div> A boy and a girl in our youth group were dating. We had a talk of abusive relationships with teens. After this workshop, the girl told the leader of the group that she wanted to break up with her boyfriend. After some time, she did. The boy could not stand the idea of her breaking up with him so one day he followed her and stabbed her 28 times. The girl survived, the boy is still in jail, but now she goes to Youth conferences to talk about this subject and share her testimony in order to help other young people in the same situations. We were able to help the whole family go through this terrible experience. <br /></div>

Program Description:
Our program is targeted to the prevention or separation and/or divorce of married couples. One-third of Californians have been divorced and 63% have children living with them at the time. The two most common reasons are lack of commitment and lack of communication, followed by too much arguing and getting married too young. We believe that with this program we can work with couples to save their marriage. Our program is intended to help couples learn techniques regarding love, communication, forgiveness, respect utilizing different methods and materials dealing with Marriage education. This is an ongoing program.
Program Long-Term Success:
Our long term success is measured by the number of couples that were going to divorce and decided to stay together and the number of couples that have succeeded in changing their family patterns, lifestyle and behavior. The way in which we could measure the results is by having a written testimony of how our program helped in helping each couple remain committed to their spouse.
Program Short-Term Success:
The achievement is known immediately after each course ends. Couples have the opportunity of expressing how the workshops and classes have helped them change their interaction and their behavior towards each other. As a result, we have couples sending their teen children to our TNT group. We want the couples to commit to attend at least 80% of the classes.
Program Success Monitored by:
We have not measured or tracked the success of our program, but will create a survey that will be given to the group at the end of the courses.
Program Success Examples:
The greatest data that we have is our attendance and the couples inviting other couples to our workshops. The testimonies given by the couples during the classes are the most convincing data that our program is doing well. We have wives or husbands stating how they have made changes in their attitudes and actions regardless if their spouse changes or not. Couples are assuming their responsibility within the marriage. We even have single people attending our workshops or persons that come without their spouse and they are applying what they learn at home.

Human Services, General/Other
- Population Served:
-
Adults
-
Females, all ages or age unspecified
Program Description:
This program provides two workshops each week to support any man or woman that walks into our doors. We have individual subjects every week or a course of different topics dealing with the same theme. We talk about setting boundaries, handling the pain or separation and divorce, self-esteem, destroying the giants of your life like: depression, anger, loneliness, etc. Sometimes the members of our organization are the speakers and we also invite professionals and experts to talk to our group about different subjects. We help participants achieve change and to discover their potential to fulfill the purpose for which they were created. Many participants have shared that they have been able to apply the life skills that we teach and turn their lives around.
Program Long-Term Success:
This is an ongoing program. Our main success will be to have about 40 to 60 people attend our workshop every week. We want to have the necessary staff to contact the new people that attend our activities to show personal touch. Our objective is to have 90% of all of the individuals that attend to invite other friends and continue coming to workshops even though we know they cannot attend 100%. One of our main challenges is that we do not have child care. This might be another program in order for more people to benefit from our program.
Program Short-Term Success:
Our greatest achievement is to see lives changed. We want to get the people attending our workshops to volunteer during the workshop they attend. This will give them a sense of belonging. At the end of every course, we want people to evaluate how have been impacted by the class of subject taught and if they have applied it in their lives and the results they have obtained. People that attend our workshops have the opportunity of also having one on one mentoring if needed.
Program Success Monitored by:
One of our tools is our attendance list which tells us the number of people that attend workshops and their repeat visits. We will be requesting our attendees to write the benefit they have received by attending one of our programs. We want written testimonies of how our programs have helped them change their lives.
Program Success Examples:
We have many personal testimonies of lives changed, relationships restored, hard decisions made with courage after attending our programs. People have made friends that have brought joy to their lives. We have many stories of women who decided to set boundaries in the way they were treated. They have dealt with the fear and insecurity and have shown tough love by maybe separating from their families, but in exchange living happy and fulfilling lives even though the circumstances have not changed.
