Impact Summary from the Nonprofit

Founded in 1987 by artists as a versatile space for exhibition and performance, Artspace was reinvented in 1998 as a visual arts organization, utilizing vacant and unusual spaces to create new opportunities for artists to connect with the community. Since then, Artspace has helped nearly 3,000 local artists to develop their careers. We present gallery exhibitions, outdoor installations, a major annual Open Studios festival, and a teen education program. Our audience includes our artists, teen participants, and the greater New Haven community. Our 5,000 square-foot exhibition space (leased) is free and open to the public Tuesday-Saturday, including evening hours on Friday and Saturday. Our public-art pocket park <em>the Lot</em> (leased from the city for $1/year) is open 24/7
