Program Description:
Light of Life provides comprehensive services to the poor and homeless which fall under two main areas: the Recovery Program and Samaritan Ministries.<br />

The Mission’s Recovery Program empowers men and women to achieve healthy, productive, self-sufficient living. Components of the program include: addiction recovery counseling, transitional housing, education and career training, life and parenting skills, treatment referrals for mental health issues, activities for improving socialization and relationship building, after-care and mentoring and other services. On-site care is also provided for children, including the services of a full time family therapist. Accommodations for men include a 38 man capacity site for residential care and an additional 12 man capacity for extended care at a nearby apartment facility. Hours of education, counseling, training and other services total >110,000 hours annually.

<div>Samaritan Ministries offer daily meals for the public at large, emergency shelter for men, daily chapel services, community outreach and a unique short-term case management program for homeless men called the High Commitment Shelter. This program serves close to 1,000 different individuals in a 12 month period. The Mission provides ~ 100,000 meals and 34,000 nights of safe shelter annually. </div>

<div>Short term outcomes include helping people to: stabilize their lives through access to basic needs; build a foundation for living addiction-free living; have access to educational resources; learn new skills to achieve career goals; gain self-esteem, self-determination and essential life skills through group and individual counseling; gain a sense of hope and purpose through Light of Life’s loving, supportive environment.</div>

<div>Through an individual service plan, each client's progress is monitored and tracked according to a specified set of outcomes. An on-site lab service provides drug screening as necessary. One-on-one counseling aids clients' progress in overcoming obstacles to their recovery.</div>

Program Description:

Program Description:
<div>Single mothers and their children whose lives have been adversely affected by substance addiction, homelessness, poverty and abuse receive off-site housing, case management, counseling and career services in Light of Life's Women and Children's Program. Initially, families are stabilized through rental assistance, food, clothing and household needs. This long-term program (12-18 months) provides 20 hours per week of addiction, parenting and life skills counseling, household management, family therapy, education and career training, child care and other services designed to reunite and rebuild strong family units. Up to 30 families are served through this program at any given time.</div>

Program Description:
Through its After-Care and Mentoring program, Light of Life provides both men and women graduates with a comprehensive network to help ensure their lifelong recoveries. Graduates enjoy opportunities to manage/serve on an alumni board, engage in social activities, and have access to mentoring and other supportive services.
