Impact Summary from the Nonprofit
<div>ALAN works domestically and internationally to support communities affected by disasters. Recent works include:</div>
<ul><li>ALAN helped identify a transport company to move donated hospital mattresses to a non-profit warehouse for shipping to Haiti.</li><li>A plea for medical supplies to respond to the Haiti cholera outbreak resulted in the donation of a significant amount of bandages, IV equipment and solution. The donation was transported from a centralized US warehouse to Haiti.</li><li>In response to the threat of Hurricane Earl ALAN secured offerings of donated office and warehouse space in Maryland and Massachusetts for a large US non-profit.</li><li>A call for cleaning supplies to support Tennessee flooding cleanup resulted in three pallet-loads of supplies being offered by a Maryland company.</li><li>Following the Haiti earthquake with military airlift winding down, the State Department needed transport for orphans. An introduction to an air transport non-profit resulted in 44 orphans and 12 adults being airlifted out one week and 42 orphans the next.</li><li>A non-profit's Haiti project to build transitional housing required a person skilled in logistics and information technology. A Canadian volunteer spent a month with the organization in Haiti.</li></ul>

<ul><li>technology improvements to better match non-profit needs with available private sector resources.</li><li>introductions to all state emergency management and voluntary organizations active in disaster (VOAD) organization leadership.</li><li>Showcase non-profit work with stories in supply chain stories in industry journals</li></ul>

Program Description:
<div>The NGO Outreach program allows ALAN personnel to establish long term relationships with NGO staff. This program also allows ALAN to connect NGO needs with private sector resources. </div>

<div>This program seeks to work with NGO personnel to assist them in effectively communicating needs to resources most able to assist. This includes the use of relationship building, technology to communicate and respond to needs, and development of a resource mapping to identify resources with capacity.</div>
