Mission Statement

We are dedicated to reducing the number of healthy, adoptable cats and dogs destroyed each year in local animal control facilities. Each animal we adopt  has received extensive medical care including a spay/neuter surgery. We are also committed to reducing animal overpopulation through spay/neuter.

<div>The SPCA launched a capital campaign in 2008 to build a Pet Rescue and Adoption Center. This 9000 square foot facility is equipped with sophisticated floor drains and a high-tech ventilation system, which is specifically designed to keep our rescue pets safe and healthy.  The badly needed new facility was officially opened on March 9, 2010. While fundraising in Michigan's current economy is extremely challenging, the SPCA has raised over half of the $1.4 million project budget. The gap in fundraising will be converted into a mortgage, but fundraising will continue, to reduce the monthly expense to the organization.</div>
