Program Description:
CBE advances the biblical basis for ministry that is based on God's gifting and not limited by gender. To accomplish this purpose, CBE hosts annual conferences and events, sponsors local chapters, partners with like-minded ministries, publishes two award-winning journals, and hosts an extensive web ministry including an online bookstore and a weekly e-newsletter. We also are an educational site for graduate schools and universities, we participate in scholarly events such as the Evangelical Theological Society, and international evangelical events such as the Evangelical Fellowship of India, Urbana, Cornerstone Festival, and more. The 2009 total program costs for conferences, bookstore, membership, and publications are budgeted at $365,400.
Program Long-Term Success:

By providing individuals, churches, organizations, and mission groups with a consistent and in-depth biblical premise for engaging the gifts of women, CBE will redress the misconception that the Bible requires women’s subordination to men and show that the Bible teaches the fundamental equality and dignity of all people. Evangelicals will shift their behavior to reflect this new awareness, as evidenced by a growing parity of women’s leadership and service in Christian churches, organizations and mission groups at all levels.

Program Short-Term Success:
CBE's board of directors and staff have completed a third five-year strategic plan (2010-2015) outlining five key result areas with measurable goals and strategies, which are assessed quarterly. The five key result areas include 1.) Promote Egalitarian Scholarship, 2.) Popularize the Message, 3.) Produce Greater Market Penetration, 4.) Establish a Financially Sound Organization, and 5.) Articulate and Promote a Theology of Gender and Justice. When more than 70% of the annual goals and strategies in each key results area are met, the annual plan is considered successful.
Program Success Monitored by:
Through a measurable annual plan, CBE will study, each quarter, the success of our goals and strategies in the five key result areas. The quarterly assessment is reviewed by CBE's board of directors and executive staff.
Program Success Examples:

Third quarter 2009, Key Result Area 1: Promote Egalitarian Scholarship identifies goals and strategies to advance biblical equality to academics. Goals achieved in this quarter include increased revenue from academics of 218% over the same quarter in 2008; increased participation of college students at 2009 St. Louis conference by 566% (about 20 students) compared to 2008 conference; new academics spent 218% more on CBE resources in the third quarter of 2008 compared to the same quarter last year. Accomplished goals and strategies identified for the third quarter 2009, Key Result Area 3: Produce Greater Market Penetration include a 19.4% increase in the number of individual/household members who joined or renewed their CBE membership as compared to the same quarter in 2008; the number of organizational and church memberships increased 33.3% over third quarter 2008; income is up 203 over the second quarter of 2009 and up 174% over the third quarter of 2008.
