Profile:
Patricia Wudel has long had a passionate interest in communities whose purpose is to welcome those in our society who are most vulnerable and least valued. From 1993-1997, she served as the eastern US director of L'Arche (the Ark), a worldwide ecumenical movement of people with intellectual disabilities and those who assist them. While she has been involved with Joseph's House since its inception in 1990, she was appointed executive director in 1998.
Leadership Statement:
At Joseph's House, we are called to build community by nurturing a healing relationship with every man and woman who comes. We are called to express compassionate, courageous, steadfast friendship--as infused with serenity and joy as we can open ourselves to. The relationships provide ongoing lessons, and the men and women who live and die here are excellent teachers.
