Profile:

Terry Stone, Executive Director of CenterLink, brings many years of nonprofit experience in the healthcare arena including 19 years of service with the LGBT and HIV/AIDS communities. He previously served as the Executive Director of the National Adult Day Services Association, The Center of Orange County and the Northwest AIDS Foundation. Throughout his career, Mr. Stone has served on a number of boards and commissions at the national, state and local levels including the National Association of LGBT Community Centers (Washington, DC), the Leadership Council of Aging Organizations (Washington, DC), AIDS Action Council (Washington, DC), Men Alive (Orange County), YMCA (Seattle), and the Ryan White Planning Council (Orange County, Seattle and Dallas.

CenterLink works with over 170 LGBT Community Centers in the following areas: ?Leadership development for community center executive directors; ?Expanding the organizational capacity of community centers by helping to increase their level of professionalism; ?Building advocacy capacity by helping centers to become more effective and powerful voices for meeting the needs of their grassroots LGBT communities through our Community Center Action Network; ?Building a network of youth centers and community center youth programs that will provide training, technical assistance and networking opportunities; ?One-to-one technical assistance, advice and support for individuals at centers and those looking to create a center.

In collaboration with the Movement Advancement project, published the 2008 Community Center Survey Report,presenting a comprehensive picture of LGBT community centers' staffs and boards, program priorities, constituencies, fundraising, budgets and technical assistance needs.

Youth Link has a three-fold purpose: 1. Provide leadership and organizational development for LGBT youth centers through technical assistance, training, strategic planning and resource sharing; 2. Develop a national online resource portal of program examples, policies, procedures and funding; and 3. 3) Bring increased national attention to the issues facing LGBT youth by giving youth leaders the opportunity to gather, discuss the issues most important to them, develop a national policy agenda and coordinate with national advocacy organizations to incorporate the agenda into their policy strategies.
