Budget:

Category:
None
Population Served:
Female Adults
General Public/Unspecified
Female Young Adults (20-25 years) -- currently not in use

Program Description:

While NWHM works with Congress to secure a permanent building site, its website is its virtual home. There is ongoing development of the site and two online exhibits were added: "A Century of Entrepreneurial Women" and "Women and the Internet."

Program Long-Term Success:

More people will visit the Museum's website than will ever attend the physical site so this is an ongoing project to make women's history available to anyone who has access to the internet. More than 45,000 educational institutions have linked or connected to the NWHM site (www.nwhm.org) and this number will continue to grow. There were over 2 million hits to the website in 2012.

Program Short-Term Success:

The website is a tool to communicate updates on Museum activities and educational efforts. We can stay in touch with our members and supports, do surveys and provide information on more contemporary topics. Staff are able to update the website on a regular basis.

Impact Summary from the Nonprofit Additional Information A Charting Impact Report consists of an organization’s responses to the five questions. Helping validate this self-reported data are three reviews. Once an organization has used the online interface to complete its report, its responses will produce a document with a unique URL that will be shared on this website, on your GuideStar profile, on the reports of charities participating in BBB Wise Giving Alliance evaluations, and – in the future – with other websites and information sources about nonprofits. We encourage organizations to use this URL to share their report on their own website and through their own media channels. Participants will receive guidance about promoting their Charting Impact Report, along with other benefits, once they publish their report.

The National Women's History Museum has the goal of disseminating information about women's history to the general public.
