Leadership
Eric Ritz
Profile:
Global Inheritance was started in the winter of 2002 by Eric Ritz. After running several successful benefit concerts and fundraisers since his days at the University of Oregon, Ritz signed on to assist with the launch of the TRUTH campaign with American Legacy Foundation. The Truth focused on the concept of empowering the individual and designing campaigns differently for each subculture in order to create a bridge that mentally connected people with the facts on big tobacco.
After several successful years with the Truth campaign, Ritz took this same remedy and applied the general idea to all causes (environmental and social) under the name Fashion Peace (later to become Global Inheritance). Fashion Peace partnered with major brands (Diesel, Puma, Levis, American Apparel more) to encourage people to use clothing as a billboard to represent the causes they believed in (clean water, 3rd world education, human rights, etc)
As Fashion Peace became more successful the organization branched out into areas outside of Fashion. Ritz changed the name of the organization to Global Inheritance, which currently organizes over fifteen original initiatives at festivals and events across North America.
