Mission Statement

MISSION STATEMENT Youth Quest's mission is to give at-risk youth with various behavioral and emotional problems the potential for success. This will be done by assisting them with a stable treatment home and family, an exemplary helping staff, and a broader base of life enhancing social skills to enable them to live more productive lives, and in turn provide more healthy and functional homes for the community tomorrow.

Profile:

Emily Schofield founded Youth Quest in 1998 while her husband attended Duke Medical School. Emily, and her husband Kelly were the first Family Teacher Practitioners as they lived in the first group home of Youth Quest. The Quest opened and provided care and treatment to the youth using the Teaching Family Model with a team of college educated support staff. Upon graduation from Duke in 2001, Kelly Schofield took over as Clinical Director, and Emily as Executive Director. Kelly's hobbies and passions include learning about and collecting unique plant flora and cold-blooded animals which is where the Reptanical School and Garden has gained much of it's vision. Emily enjoys leading, training, and directing the affairs, financial managment, and growth of Youth Quest.
