Program Description:
NESEI is building a network of ?accelerated learning? secondary schools for over 20,000 students that are designed specifically to create and train the new leaders of the private and public sectors that are central to Sudan?s transition to peace and stability. We are committed to creating increased educational access for young women, as well as an educational focus on decommisioned soldiers and war orphans. We will train students in areas of Sudan?s most dire needs, such as health services, business and agricultural development.
Program Long-Term Success:
We plan to build 20 secondary schools that will include a wide variety of innovative programs and student/community services. These will include: community health and girls education counseling centers, transition primary schools for girls, income generating projects to create self-sustainability for NESEI students and NESEI school communities, and innovative curriculum development that will include gender studies, peace studies, and vocational training. Our schools will give students skills that they can use to rebuild their post-conflict communities, bringing new services in healthcare, business, agriculture, and other important areas.
