Mission Statement
Just Foreign Policy is an independent and non-partisan membership organization dedicated to reforming U.S. foreign policy through coordinating the broad majority of Americans to advocate their interests and values.
<br />
<br />
Eventually the United States must move towards a more multilateral approach to foreign relations-one that relies less on raw U.S. military and economic power and more on international law and treaties, co-operation, and diplomacy. Our goal is to accelerate this transition through education, organization, and mobilization of concerned citizens.

Program Description:
We are teaming up with author and long-time New York Times correspondent Stephen Kinzer for a 20-stop, cross-country speaking tour in February and March 2008. We will promote real diplomacy, meaning direct, unconditional and comprehensive negotiations with Iran as being in the best interest of the majority of Americans, Iranians, and people in the region. We will educate the public on the dangers of any preemptive military strike on Iran. The tour will launch in Los Angeles on February 7 and reach its finale in Washington, DC on March 6, 2008.
Program Long-Term Success:
The tour will promote diplomacy and work to prevent a U.S. military strike on Iran. It will provide tools for action for the local groups where the tour stops and beyond and is already energizing organizations and people around the country. We also hope that the tour will be successful in the media.

Program Description:
Ethiopia is among the top five recipients of U.S. aid, receiving annually over 500 million dollars, much of which is military support. Currently our tax dollars to Ethiopia fund regional destabilization, widespread human rights abuses, and mass atrocities committed by the Ethiopian government in the Ogaden that are leading to a humanitarian crisis. The Bush Administration supports the Ethiopian government's brutality because it is a key ally in the "war on terror." Our program on human rights in Ethiopia works to change U.S. foreign policy toward Ethiopia so as to avoid further human rights abuses and stop the looming humanitarian crisis.
Program Long-Term Success:
Our work has already had a great impact. We hope that our continued collaboration with Ethiopian American communities in the U.S. will increase coordination on the issue and will help to reach out to average American citizens about how our policy here impacts people around the world.
