Program Description:
Cambodia has the highest infant and under-five mortality rates in Southeast Asia, statistics in part attributable to waterborne diseases.
We have a lot to be proud about in Cambodia. The organizations and people we call friends and partners include the country’s leading sex-trafficking abolitionist, the nation’s largest pediatric hospital, the premier group serving Phnom Penh’s overwhelming street youth population. It's humbling and inspiring to support their amazing work and the kids they serve with clean water.
Program Long-Term Success:
Splash begins with the end in mind: 10 years for each site, followed by full transition to local control by year 11. It is our goal that, by 2020, local actors will have taken over ownership and responsibility for carrying this work forward. Fundamental to Splash’s approach is to plan for sustainability (including a clear exit strategy) from the get-go.
Program Short-Term Success:
We actively serve over 50 sites in Cambdodia and more than 60,000 children with clean water daily. We are also implementing Hygiene Education at our partner sites to maximize the health benefits of clean water.
Program Success Monitored by:
During the first two years following installation, Splash conducts monitoring site visits at least once per 90 days, then at 6-month intervals during years 3 through 10. Splash will receive both qualitative and quantitative evaluation data, and will post them transparently on its accountability platform: www.proving.it. Examples include: quotations from beneficiaries; water quality test results (pre and post); number of children served; and impact of clean water and effective hygiene.
Program Success Examples:
Splash partners with orphanages, schools, hospitals, and other institutions – organizations that are doing excellent work with children, however they lack safe water. Our efficacy and efficiency are perhaps best demonstrated by this fact: In 2013, Splash will announce that we have secured reliably safe water in every orphanage in China – in all 31 provinces – an accomplishment we attained in under six years.

Program Description:
The Kathmandu Valley has a population of over 2 million people. That may not sound too bad until you consider density: with as many as 13,000 people living in each square kilometer, the population density of the Kathmandu Valley is mind-boggling—at least five times that of New York City.
While there are countless institutions serving children in Kathmandu, we made a strategic decision to focus our efforts on the city's public schools. Of the more than 2,000 schools in the Kathmandu Valley, most are tuition-based private schools and can afford to purchase bottled water or pay for filtration. The government-run schools, by contrast, are poorly funded and, generally speaking, have the lowest quality water and worst hygiene practices. And they truly serve Kathmandu's most vulnerable children—its orphans, child laborers, and kids from the city's many slums. These are exactly the children who will benefit the most from clean drinking water and hygiene education, especially since neither are available at home.
Program Long-Term Success:
Our goal in Nepal is complete coverage of public schools in Kathmandu Valley, and we are already 30% of the way there. Splash begins with the end in mind: 10 years for each site, followed by full transition to local control by year 11. It is our goal that, by 2020, local actors will have taken over ownership and responsibility for carrying this work forward. Program Short-Term Success:
We actively serve over 60 sites in and around Kathmandu and more than 60,000 children with clean water daily. We have also implemented culturally appropriate Hygiene Education at 20 of our partner sites and are growing this program daily.

Program Description:
In 2008, Splash officially launched our major China Project: Clean Water for Orphans, a progressive mission to bring clean and safe, purified water to every orphan in China. In 2013, we will announce completion of all clean water system installations.
This project is a massive mission that assists more than 600 Chinese orphanages and welfare institutions, bringing clean drinking water to improve the lives of over 200,000 orphaned children. In addition to orphanages, Splash also serves a handful of schools and pediatric hospitals that serve children in vulnerable communities.

Program Description:
In 2008 Splash was privileged to launch our work in sub-Saharan Africa by partnering with two orphanages for children living with HIV/AIDS, one HIV/AIDS clinic, one children's home, and four schools. We now serve over 30 sites in and around Addis Ababa and more than 16,000 children with clean water daily. We are also implementing health and hygiene education to maximize the benefits of clean water to reduce waterborne illness.

Program Description:
The national government has done an incredible job at providing centralized care in Bangkok for some of the nation’s most vulnerable children. With this well established network in place, we started out our first year in Thailand in 2012 by providing clean water for 10 sites, in some of the largest orphanages and centers for disabled children in the country.

Program Description:
We began our first year in Vietnam in 2012 working extensively with national and local governmental actors to establish pilot projects in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Saigon. This work has primarily revolved around clean water projects in schools and pediatric hospitals (we already work in 3 of the 5 largest hospitals in the country); but we also have taken a strong position working for children suffering genetic disorders caused by Dioxin poisoning.
Program Long-Term Success:
