Hugh began his Scouting career in Middle Tennessee as District Executive, then advanced to Field Director, Finance Director and Director of Field Service. He went on to serve as Scout Executive in Johnson City, Tennessee and Orlando, Florida before moving to California as Associate Regional Director for the Western Region. From there he joined the Western Los Angeles County Council as Scout Executive - and most recently Scout Executive of the Baltimore Area Council. Hugh is a Distinguished Eagle Scout and holds the God and Country Award. He is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University. Hugh and his wife Diana have two grown sons that are Eagle Scouts.

Leadership Statement:

Welcome to the GivingMatters.com Profile for the Middle Tennessee Council, Boy Scouts of America. Our dedicated volunteers take great pride in serving the various segments of our youth population with a viable and active program that imparts them with the time honored values that Scouting espouses. Since our council was organized in 1920, many thousands of youth have benefited from the character building programs of Scouting that are a time-honored tradition in our area. It is important to note that Giving Matters.com requires that our financial information be compiled from our IRS 990. Because of this requirement, income and expenses stated in this profile are cumulative totals from the annual operating, capital campaign, and endowment funds. Through good stewardship measures the council has been able to achieve operating income exceeding expenses by an average of 1% each year as opposed to the significant differences that result when capital funds, endowment funds and operating funds are combined as the IRS 990 indicates. The profile contains considerable other information about our organization and program which we hope you will find interesting and beneficial. If we can be of further service feel free to contact us at our service center 615-383-9724. We are most appreciative of your interest in the Middle Tennessee Council Scouting Program.
