TRICYCLE GARDENS’ URBAN FARM- RICHMOND’S PREMIER URBAN FARM
- Budget:

- Category:
-
- Population Served:
-
Program Description:
In 2010, Tricycle Gardens developed Richmond's Premiere Urban Farm. This program is proving to be a highly productive, four-season, local food and learning center. The produce being grown here is being distributed to several local restaurants, an on-line grocer and at our Farm Stand at our East End location. In addition to
providing healthy food access to the community, the farm serves
as a living classroom and working model where both adults and children can learn through hands-on interactive experiences. Our Outreach and Educational Programs are growing to include <strong>workforce development programs</strong> that take participants through each aspect of being a productive urban farmer. Outreach to school children, teachers and families is being expanded through our <strong>"Way to Grow" </strong>programs as we develop hands-on learning programs that are tied to the SOLs.
