Impact Summary from the Nonprofit
The San Luis Obispo County Community Foundation was established to help donors in the County establish endowed funds to meet the needs of the people of San Luis Obispo County. In 2008 we made more than 400 grants totalling more than $2.3 million, 93% of which were to SLO County-based nonprofits and individuals. Some of our current initiatives are: helping prepare children for school by increasing the number of Raising a Reader sites; giving young adults opportunities to explore career options through Pathways to Adulthood; making college more affordable through our scholarship program; catalyzing the enhancement of wrap-around services to homeless individuals and families through the Klaproad Initiative; and supporting the arts through Arts Inspire!
