Mission Statement
<li>To provide a safe no-kill haven in the form of permanent sanctuary homes for unadoptable foster cats.
</li><li>To provide lifetime care, love and compassion to the sanctuary cats for whom we are guardians.
</li><li>To help reduce overpopulation of cats in Albuquerque by providing low cost spay and neuter to anyone who needs to sterilize their cat(s).
</li><li>To welcome and extend respect and support to all A.C.A.T. volunteers </li>

Impact Summary from the Nonprofit
Founded in March 2000, the Albuquerque Cat Action Team is Albuquerque and New Mexico's first and only rescue organization dedicated exclusively helping cats and kittens in the Albuquerque metropolitan area. In almost 10 years of operation, we have adopted out more than 2,400 cats, sterilized more than 3,500 cats, helped more than 100 families provide advanced vet care to their cats, and established a sanctuary program for approximately 25 un-adoptable cats.

Cynthia Richards, Founder and Past President, has a combined 25 years of organizational management, administrative and cat rescue, rehabilitation and adoption experience. She has written for a newspaper dedicated to animal rights and issues, has published more than twenty stories called "Smitten the Kitten" (c) in Petroglyphs for Kids, distributed to all 3rd and 4th graders in Albuquerque public schools. In addition, she has been interviewed by local print and TV media on cat related topics.
