Program Description:
The AAASDC conducts an annual scholarship program to provide funding to individuals training for a career in aviation. The costs to become a pilot or an aircraft mechanic have increased dramatically in the last few years. This has been one of the reasons for the decline in pilot population in the U.S.
Program Long-Term Success:
Since 2003, the AAASDC has awarded 27 one-year scholarships to San Diego area students. Nine organizations conducting flight training or aviation related activities in the San Diego area have participated in our program.
Program Short-Term Success:
The year 2009-2010 was our most successful year to date with 8 scholarships awarded to area students
Program Success Monitored by:
<div>The scholarship funds are provided to the student's school or training instituition. The training institution then provides the oversight to ensure that the scholarship funds are used as intended and provides verification to the AAASDC.</div>

<div>Dear AAASDC, </div>
<div>I am so thankful for this scholarship money. I cried upon hearing the news. It was such a blessing and encouragement for me. I’ve gone through so much grief and hardship trying to get through the aviation program. And money has always been the issue and major stopping force. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>I am so excited to get back up in the air and start working on my CFI. I’m so ready to step up and pour into others lives through my love and passion for aviation. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>Thank you so much for helping me achieve my dreams and for giving me a boost on this road to become the best woman and pilot that I can be!</div>
