Mission Statement

YOUTH BUSINESS WEEK FOUNDATION-CALIFORNIA (YBW) SPONSORS AN ANNUAL, WEEK LONG PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN CREATING AND RUNNING A MOCK PUBLICLY HELD CORPORATION. THE PURPOSE IS TO EXPOSE STUDENTS TO THE ACTUAL CHALLENGES INVOLVE IN RUNNING A BUSINESS IN COMBINATION WITH DEVELOPING A BUSINESS TEAM. THIS EXPERIENCE IS INTENDED TO HELP STUDENTS FOCUS ON AREAS OF STUDY AND/OR EXPLORATION FOR THEIR FUTURE GOALS.

YOUTH BUSINESS WEEK HELPS CALIFORNIA'S FUTURE BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS PURSUE THEIR ENTREPRENEURIAL AMBITIONS. THIS YEAR, YBW HOSTED ITS FOURTH PROGRAM AT SONOMA STATE UNIVERSITY FOR 100 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. THESE TEENS WERE IMMERSED IN HANDS ON ENTREPRENEURIAL EDUCATION ACTIVITIES, TAUGHT BY MORE THAN 200 BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS
