Program Description:
FareStart's comprehensive open-enrollment program includes: 16-weeks of classroom and hands-on food service job skill training, with students learning and developing their skills working in the FareStart businesses. Intensive support to address issues surrounding students' homelessness. Assistance for students to meet their basic needs during their program participation, including; housing, transportation, medical care, clothing, food. Support to find and retain employment with sustainable wages and benefits. Students at FareStart practice key job skills. While still living in Seattle's homeless shelters, they show up to work on time every weekday, clean, sober, appropriately dressed, ready to learn and ready to work. After completion of the sixteen-week program, they discover that in addition to the courage that brought them to FareStart, they now have a marketable skill, tools for life and a place of belonging in the community.

Completed $8 million capital campaign and moved into new 33,000 square foot facility.
