Mission Statement
The Bay Area Ridge Trail Council plans, promotes, builds, and maintains the Bay Area Ridge Trail, a multiuse trail that, when complete, will connect more than 75 parks and open spaces on the ridgeline surrounding the San Francisco Bay. The Bay Area Ridge Trail Council creates links between parks, people, and communities, helping to satisfy the growing recreational needs of the Bay Area's diverse populations and the desire of individuals to connect with their communities and the outdoor environment.

Janet McBride
Profile:
Janet has worked for over twenty years in the planning and environmental field. Prior to coming to the Council in fall 2006, Janet gained highly relevant trail and nonprofit management experience as director of the San Francisco Bay Trail Project for more than six years and as planning director of the Association of Bay Area Governments.
Janet holds a BS in Environmental Policy and Analysis Planning from the University of California, Davis and a masters degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
