GOALS AND RESULTS
Accomplishments for Fiscal Year Ending September 30, 2006
- During fiscal year ended September 30, 2006, Focus on the Family impacted an estimated 220 million people daily in 156 countries. Radio and television broadcasts were a primary vehicle for this outreach.
- Focus on the Family distributes monthly and bi-monthly around 14 magazines and newsletters related to various interests and age groups. For example, "Family News from Dr. James Dobson" that reaches as many as 1.2 million U.S. homes and 90,000 Canadian homes.
- For many years, Focus on the Family (FOF) has played an important role in educating the Christian community on public policy and legislative matters that are critical in the battle to preserve the Judeo-Christian foundation that is vital to building strong families and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In year ended 2006, we created a positive impact on the definition of marriage(only between one man and woman), the sanctity of human life in all its forms, and the need to deal with Judicial Tyranny, also, Citizen Magazine which circulates to approximately 55,000 households.
Objectives for Fiscal Year Beginning October 1, 2006
- In the next few years, our goal is to reach 400 million people in 170 countries through radio; produce and distribute resources in 36 languages and 81 countries; conduct 196 "impact projects" (such as abstinence training) in 75 countries and have associate offices in 35 nations. Eventually, our goal is to see at least 50 pro-family, national organizations established around the globe.
- Our My Family outreach has two primary objectives. First, to deliver practical parenting advice and encouragement to five million young families. Second, to draw (over the next five years) 250,000 of those families into direct relationship with Focus so we can provide ongoing support and vital help in time of need.
- We will continue in our public policy efforts in the battle to preserve traditional values, protect marriage and the family, preserve the sanctity of human life, and guard religious freedom.

Balance Sheet: Fiscal Year Ending September 30, 2008
Note: The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot long survive, but the types of assets and liabilities also must be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
