MISSION AND PROGRAMS

Mission

The principal goal of the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund is to educate the public on the sanctity of human life through educational programs specifically related to abortion, euthanasia, and infanticide, and to improve social awareness and responsibility for human life, particularly for such vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals and classes as the mentally and physically disabled, aged, and children--both before and after their birth. To achieve these goals, the Trust Fund publishes and distributes books and brochures, films and displays of audio or visual materials, holds seminars and conferences, and advirtises on right to life issues through television, radio and newspaper venues. The board of directors meets quarterly, approves the annual Trust Fund budget, and monitors the programs. The Trust Fund is a separately segregated fund from the NRL Committee and has received 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service. Contributions are tax-deductible. The Trust Fund is audited by a certified public accountant annually.

Programs

The National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund provides financial support to educational outreach programs, including media advertising, publications and research, employee workplace campaigns, international programs, the academic journal "Issues In Law and Medicine", the Legal Defense Counsel, the Association for Interdisciplinary Research In Values and Social Change, National Teens and College Students for Life, Black Americans for Life (BAL) , and American Victims of Abortion (AVA).

The Trust Fund handles thousands of requests for educational information on abortion, assisted suicide, euthanasia, and infanticide annually. It develops new fact sheets on abortion statistics, and is active in the promotion of educational access on the Internet. Each year, crisis pregnancy centers across the United States use NRL Educational Trust Fund material to help women find better alternatives for themselves, fathers and their unborn children.

Balance Sheet: Fiscal Year Ending April 30, 2008

Note: The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot long survive, but the types of assets and liabilities also must be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
