Chief Executive
Patricia S. Huntington, Ed.D.
Chief Executive Profile
For more than 20 years, Dr. Huntington has advised grant makers in foreign policy, international development programs, and strategic philanthropy. Her clients have included American Express, the Ford Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, the U.S. Department of Defense, and the U.S. Department of State.
Dr. Huntington founded Network 20/20 in the fall of 2003 to fill two gaps in U.S. global security policy: lack of youth participation and lack of serious input from civil society in general. Her goal was to provide emerging leaders in a variety of fields with an in-depth understanding of geopolitical developments and international issues as well as with opportunities to develop a network of contacts with their counterparts in countries of pivotal concern for the U.S.
Prior to Network 20/20, Dr. Huntington directed a Rockefeller Foundation field research project in eleven countries on four continents. Dr. Huntington reported the results in a position paper, 'Landmines and U.S. Leadership: A View from the Field.' She also created an educational CD-ROM on global humanitarian mine clearance titled, 'Landmines: Clearing the Way,' that has been disseminated widely throughout the world.
She began her career conducting action research in South Africa for the seminal book, Non-white Political Movements in Southern Africa. She went on to launch community education projects at the village level in West Africa, and then returned to the U.S. where she founded Huntington Associates, a consulting firm to grant makers.
Dr. Huntington is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Women?s Foreign Policy Group and Women in International Security, and serves on the Board of Governors of Foreign Policy Association?s Off-the-Record Lecture Series.
She earned a Summa Cum Laude for her Smith College undergraduate work on British Imperialism in Southern Africa, an M.A. in African History from UCLA, and an Ed.D. from Rutgers University.

MISSION AND PROGRAMS
Mission
Network 20/20 is an independent not-for-profit organization that helps prepare next generation leaders in the U.S. to participate meaningfully in public diplomacy and the creation and execution of policies promoting global public security. We do this by means of lectures and educational initiatives here at home and through a series of trips and exchanges abroad called the Entrepreneurial Diplomacy Program.
Network 20/20 fills two major gaps in U.S. foreign policy: lack of young professional participation and lack of serious input from civil society in general. Network 20/20 helps to bridge these gaps by assisting mid-career individuals with new and vigorous ideas drawn from their experiences in the real world of private citizenry to refine their foreign policy understandings and share their insights with their peers.
Programs
Members
In its first year and a half of operation, Network 20/20 achieved remarkable growth attracting 200 young, mid-career professionals eager to expand their knowledge and contacts in the field of foreign relations. Membership continues to grow through word of mouth, currently adding 25 qualified new members per quarter. Network 20/20 anticipates growing to 250 members in 2006.
Network 20/20 members come from the business world, the professions, media, NGOs, think tanks, government and academia. Members are U.S. citizens and foreign nationals from Asia, the Caucasus, the greater Middle East, Africa and Latin America. What draws them together is that they are all 'thinking,' motivated, and disciplined individuals who are volunteering significant time and energy to improving their understanding of the world.
Lectures and Briefings
Network 20/20 events include briefings by leading experts on international affairs, conversations with seasoned analysts, breakfasts and dinners with diplomats and public officials, one-on-one sessions with civic leaders, roundtables on sustained topics including preparation for international trips, and networking events among its members.
Recent Network 20/20 speakers have included George Soros, financier and philanthropist, Ambassador Richard Holbrooke, Fareed Zakaria of Newsweek, Ambassador Prince Zeid Ra?ad Zeid Al-Hussein of Jordan, Lucio Noto, former Vice-Chairman of ExxonMobil, Clark Winter, Chief Global Investment Strategist at Citigroup, and James Hoge, editor of Foreign Affairs.
Entrepreneurial Diplomacy Program
In 2004, Network 20/20 launched its Entrepreneurial Diplomacy Program in an effort to connect young private sector leaders from the United States with their counterparts in other countries. Believing that the term 'public diplomacy' has come to mean little more than government propaganda, Network 20/20 is building a broad network of influential private citizens that will generate concrete, actionable ideas to enhance international security and prosperity. The organization pursues this goal through study, dialogue, and field research in regions of global security concern.
Network 20/20 is an international association of talented young people who wish to make their mark in international affairs. In a world that grows more ideologically polarized by the day, Network 20/20 trains its members in civil debate dedicated to finding common ground between East and West, Islam and Christianity, developed and developing countries.
We believe that the world can only become more secure if its leaders know and respect each other. In the years ahead, our members will rise through the ranks of business, the private sector and civil government while maintaining ties to their counterparts in countries of vital concern for global security. Because of Network 20/20, they will have ready access to an international network of their peers. Together, our members and their international associates will help build a more secure and prosperous world.

Objectives for Fiscal Year Beginning July 1, 2007
- Iran -
Network 20/20 has chosen Iran for a long-term project because of the country's essential importance for regional and global security. We want to help forge a new dynamic in U.S.-Iranian relations. Ever since the hostage crisis of 1979, the U.S.-Iranian relationship has been notable for mutual mistrust and miscomprehension. Yet recent events in Iraq and Afghanistan have shown that the U.S. and Iran both have stakes in the emergence of more stable, prosperous and democratic societies across the Middle East. Network 20/20 believes, however, that diplomacy is too important to be left to government officials. Our Iranian exchange project will establish bonds between young American and Iranian leaders from all walks of life.

Balance Sheet: Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2008
Note: The balance sheet gives a snapshot of the financial health of an organization at a particular point in time. An organization's total assets should generally exceed its total liabilities, or it cannot long survive, but the types of assets and liabilities also must be considered. For instance, an organization's current assets (cash, receivables, securities, etc.) should be sufficient to cover its current liabilities (payables, deferred revenue, current year loan and note payments). Otherwise, the organization may face solvency problems. On the other hand, an organization whose cash and equivalents greatly exceed its current liabilities might not be putting its money to best use.
