MISSION AND PROGRAMS
Mission
Providing health care and education to the poorest villages in Western Rajasthan. The people we meet would otherwise not receive health care and most of the young girls would have never been able to attend school.
Programs
Veerni is our main project. We service 14 villages.
Additional Comments from the Organization
Our girls' hostel program has proven successful. We began with an enrollment of 39 girls and now have 85 girls receiving a formal boarding school education.
GOALS AND RESULTS
Accomplishments for Fiscal Year Ending December 31, 2007
- Implemented a secondary school for our Veerni students and had our first college scholarship awarded to a village girl.
- Were able to provide free cataract surgeries in our villages through the help of the Desai Hospital.
- Have began a pilot nutrition program to combat the problem of malnutrition in the villages.
Objectives for Fiscal Year Beginning January 1, 2008
- Educate more village girls.
- Continue and improve on our malnutrition program.
