Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The Contoocook Riverway Association is offering custom-named bricks to you. In return, you'll help us continue the restoration of the Contoocook Depot. Our current project is putting in the brick and granite apron between the Depot and the train tracks that carry the Pullman Car that we continue to restore. We are also working on replacing the semaphore (signal) mast as the current has failed due to significant rot. We continue to restore the historic 1907 Pullman Passenger Coach as well as maintain the depot.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Different fundraising methods are in place such as a custom-named brick for an apron between the depot and the Pullman coach. Additional fundraising efforts include the Starry Starry Weekend - Christmas at the Depot artisan craft fair, mailers, gift shop and the reopening of the Contoocook Village Welcome Center.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our board of directors is a strong group with many local assets to accomplish our fundraising efforts. Many volunteers and organizations work together to help us meet our goals by contributing monetarily or physically during our fundraiser events.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have been unable to secure enough funding for an endowment. Our futuristic goal would be to have enough funds to create an endowment which would enable us to fund the typical expenses such as insurance, utilities, and basic amenities without impacting the maintenance or restoration projects that we encounter.
