Mission Statement

To see a generation of youth empowered to create better lives. We hope that through our programs the youth we serve will find hope in their situations and reach out for the help that they need to accomplish their dreams, and to see a generation of youth connecting with the world and people around them on an emotional and intellectual level. There are numerous community centers, youth programs, after school centers, foster care facilities, and churches that provide support to youth who are dealing with the effects of trauma. However, many of these sites acquire inadequate funding to provide consistent programming that teaches practical living skills and emotional understanding and support for trauma. The Peacock Foundation is designed to support existing facilities, struggling to positively affect youth development, in an effort to change the lives of the entire community.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE FOR FISCAL YEAR

Ms. Lisa Peacock

BIO

In 1987, 155 people perished in the crash of Northwest Flight 255. Michael Murray Peacock was one of those people. He left a wife and two daughters behind. In 1997, ten years later, Catherine Therise Peacock was involved in a fatal car accident. Two separate events both with the same ending . . . death. Lisa Michelle Peacock, daughter of Michael Murray Peacock and Catherine Therise Peacock, was nineteen years old looking at the rest of her life and grieving. Lisa was lost and isolated with thoughts of uncertainty and confusion. In July of 1997 Lisa went to an overnight zoo program at the Phoenix Zoo. This night would forever change the course of her life. She soon realized that the comfort and security gained from this experience could benefit others in their grieving process. She was hired by the program and has been educating children at zoological associations since. Lisa has always felt connected to those who are grieving and wanted to use her knowledge and experience to benefit others. So started The Peacock Foundation.
