CANCER FREE KIDS
Investing in game-changing research on childhood cancers because every kid deserves a chance to grow up...
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
More children die of cancer than any other disease, yet, pediatric cancer research is severely underfunded. CancerFree KIDS is working to address this critical problem by funding high-risk, high-reward research on childhood cancers.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Childhood cancer research grants
CancerFree KIDS exists to fund promising research on childhood cancers. We do this through a competitive application process through which we select the most innovative projects - the type that is most difficult to find funding for.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our goal is to end childhood cancer by getting as much money as possible directed toward pediatric cancer research.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We aim to end childhood cancer by funding high risk/high reward research projects that often go unfunded and therefore, untried. Funding from CFK gives researchers the leverage they need to request subsequent funding.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
CancerFree KIDS has a close working relationship with oncology clinicians and researchers at several of the top pediatric cancer hospitals in the country. These experts guide us through the process of selecting the most innovative and promising projects available. By choosing the most promising of the innovative ideas we increase the chance that we will fund an idea that will go on to get subsequent funding.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
CancerFree KIDS has accomplished the funding of more than 200 research grants to date totaling more than $6.5 million. Many of these projects have received subsequent funding to continue their research and several are in the clinical trial phase.

- We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
- We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
