Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our main goal is to provide "a voice for the voiceless" by giving slaughter bound horses a chance at a second home. Our secondary goal is to create a continued awareness and education regarding the slaughter industry by continued reach out to breeders and encouraging other options.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We reach out to breeders on an as needed basis as we see horses come through the slaughter lots with papers. We continue our social media outreach network on a daily basis. We also continue to make connections with local rescues in hopes to create a strong unified network for the horses and the community.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Currently we have the capacity to encourage steady networking and social media following growth. We have also recently added a fundraising committee and 2 new horse trainers to our team.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have accomplished our initial goals of setting out to start the conversation and discussion around slaughter horses and also helping them have a chance at another home. The things we still wanted to accomplish is having a strong team of equine professionals willing to continue to fight and be educational resources for the community. Secondly, our long term goal is to find a permanent facility. We have yet to find an appropriate property to fulfill the needs of our rescue.
