Provide support to newly diagnosed families
Team Scot provides support to newly diagnosed families that just heard those dreaded words “You’re Child Has Cancer!” The Parents are given a Team Scot Parents Believe Bag with essentials to keep them organized with a binder and a journal for notes, questions, important dates and a reminder on how important self care is during this unbelievable time. Their mental health is very important to be there for their sick child and any other children they have. The children and young adults are given a Team Scot Believe Backpack with items to keep themselves warm during chemo such as Team Scot Sox's, Beanie and a Blanket. In this backpack they are also given essentials to keep them busy and a journal as well so they can express themselves.

What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have a dedicated board of directors. We all have a vested interest in making sure TeamScot is effective in its mission. Most importantly, our group is composed of professionals in many different and equally important fields, from bankers to early childhood educators, which will catapult TeamScot to become an successful foundation.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Blanket donations are by far our most accomplishing task thus far. We are also putting out informational flyers to make people aware of the need for funding of pediatric cancers. We are beginning to raise monies for research programs through craft sales and donations and we are working on our short and long term goals of creating a large scale gala event and a skate competition honoring Scot's legacy. Other future projects include engaging local companies such as Facebook, Yahoo, Google, and Samsung to join in our fight.
