Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Legacy Grants Program
We give charitable grants to fund legacy building projects – large or small, new or existing – established by Gold Star Families to honor their Fallen Warrior. Whether a scholarship, youth sports programs, or even a new non-profit, if the project is meaningful to the family and honors their Fallen Warrior, we’re there to support it.
Nonprofit startup and consulting services
We offer a wide-array of free services and no-cost professional consulting to new or existing nonprofits started by Gold Star Families to carry out a legacy building project. In doing so, we ensure both the projects and the families succeed over the long-term.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Nearly 7,000 US military personnel have been killed in the recent wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. We, as a nation, have to remember these men and women. Dog Tag Brewing Foundation helps build legacies of America's Fallen Warriors by partnering with Gold Star Families on legacy-building initiatives in their communities.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We accomplish our work in three ways:
1) We provide Legacy Grants to support the legacy-building initiatives of Gold Star Families;
2) We provide free services and nonprofit consulting to ensure that the legacy projects – and the families – succeed over the long term; and
3) We share stories of Fallen Warriors, inspiring Americans to learn about lives of service and sacrifice and to get involved in legacy-building projects in their own communities.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Dog Tag Brewing Foundation is uniquely positioned to successfully deliver on its mission because of our people, our passion, and our expertise. Our all-volunteer board of directors is wholly comprised of veterans who served in support of the recent wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Collectively, our directors have served over 40 deployments, flown 2,600+ missions, spent over 1,600 days at sea, and led over 1,000 troops. Moreover, each has experienced the loss of a loved one in service to our nation. At our core, we are tied to our mission and are called to ensure its success.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Nearly 7,000 military personnel have been killed in the recent wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Already we've helped build the legacies of 32 of them. There are nearly 6,900 to go.
