What we aim to solve
According to the 2016 Department of Health Services Epidemiological Profile, from 2006 - 2015 the number of opioid-related deaths rose from 60%-74% of all reported drug deaths. Heroin-related deaths increased from 5%-32%. 41% of Wisconsin’s counties have experienced opioid hospitalizations. Ozaukee County experienced over 1500 overdoses in 2015 alone, placing us at the 17th highest rate of opioid hospitalization in the state. To date, these numbers are gradually increasing and help in Ozaukee County is direly necessary.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
WHAT WE BELIEVE: Our mission is to give hope and enhance lives by offering programs and events that inspire people to make positive choices.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
WHAT WE DO: We are a non-profit organization facilitating positive living programming and events in support of recovery/prevention of drug and alcohol abuse, crime and anything else that inhibits people from leading positive, fulfilling lives. Our hope is that by planning events and activities for both children and adults, we deter them from leading troubled lifestyles and instead provide some sense of community and above all, FUN!
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our organization is led by an individual who has been in long-term recovery for 30 years. Every member of our recovery team and Board of Directors is comprised of individuals who are either in recovery or familiar with the devastation of addiction. The qualifications of our recovery coaches paired with our 80% retention rate of board members and volunteers demonstrate that our team is invested and committed to battling the epidemic. As a partner with the Ozaukee County court system and our strong community presence, we are well connected and accessible to individuals that need our help most.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
In addition to the community events we facilitate, we have forged meaningful partnerships with local organizations such as The Mequon Chamber of Commerce, Stop Heroin Now, Wisconsin Voices for Recovery, local area hospitals, court systems, and other recovery resources. We are proud recipients/participants in the State of Wisconsin's ED2 Recovery program, providing emergency room based services to opioid overdose survivors. Additionally, we offer free goal setting and recovery support meetings, public Narcan training and are a certified monitoring location of the PharmCheck Sweat Patch. We will continue to work tirelessly on battling this epidemic, strengthing programs that we currently offer and developing new programming wherever there is the need.
