The mission of Westminster-Canterbury of Lynchburg is to operate a nonprofit continuing care retirement community, guided by Christian ideals, which promotes independence and dignity, providing quality housing, health care, and security to residents in a fiscally responsible manner.

We currently operate a Fellowship Fund for retirement financial assistance in our community. Donations to the Fellowship Fund support the admission and/or continued residence of those who otherwise would be unable to afford the entire cost. In 2008, approximately $423,172 in fellowship fund assistance was provided to residents.

BIO

A Virginia native, Huyett joined Westminster Canterbury in March 2010 from his position as Executive Director of Presbyterian Homes, Glenaire, a 332-unit, nonprofit continuing care community in Cary, N.C. Westminster Canterbury, located at 501 VES Road, is a 475-resident, not-for-profit, faith-based continuing care retirement community. Huyett has more than 16 years’ experience in nonprofit and for-profit retirement community and nursing home management. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Services Administration and Gerontology and a Master's Degree in Business Administration, both from James Madison University.
