Surviving to Thriving
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
For more than 30 years, Inspiritus (formerly known as Lutheran Services of Georgia) has been a leading social services agency serving Metro Atlanta and across Georgia. Last year, Inspiritus served more than 2,400 individuals statewide in Georgia through programs that focus on moving all of the individuals and families that we serve on a path from surviving. To do this, we make sure basic needs are met; provide opportunities for stability and safety; facilitate community integration and connections; encourage and support self-determination.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Foster Care
At times, children need the protection and safety of a home other than that of their birth family. Inspiritus assists the state of Georgia in placing at-risk and special needs children in quality foster care homes, helping save state resources while providing homes for children who otherwise would be at risk of neglect and/or abuse.
Refugee & Immigrant Services
Refugee Services helps refugees make a smooth transition to life in the US, achieve economic self-sufficiency, and become socially integrated into their new communities. Services include Resettlement, Match Grant Early Self-Sufficiency, Refugee Employment and Employment Upgrade, and Social Adjustment, and Immigration Services.
Disability Services
Disability Services helps individuals with developmental disabilities find host homes and environments in which they can thrive and obtain the support they need. This program also ensures in-home support, licensed home support, day services, assistance in understanding and using Medicaid waivers as appropriate, and employment and volunteer opportunities.
Family Intervention Services
Family Intervention Services offers an array of services and programs to children and families focused on strengthening family relationships and maintaining or building strong healthy family units. The program includes the A+ Parenting Program, SafeCare parent training across the greater Atlanta area.
