Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Imagine Our Florida's purpose is to bring people together in a shared vision to preserve and protect Florida's wildlife, habitat, and fragile ecosystem. We saw a huge void in fact-based, non-emotional education for people of all ages including our children. In addition, most teachings include human management. While this is necessary for certain areas, in other areas, such as population control within a species, science has proven that Nature has it under control in the absence of human intervention.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Education
Educating people of all ages through fact based science with hands on display and materials at indoor and outdoor events including schools. Dispelling the myths about our Florida wildlife and natural resources. Explaining how every person can make a difference and how to achieve it. Hand outs, coloring pages and eventually Usb drives with all of our educational materials for educating at home.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Imagine Our Florida, Inc. (IOF) is aiming to accomplish teaching people of all ages to connect, respect and coexist with Florida's wildlife and within our ecosystems.
Once people are armed with facts, we aim to teach them how to advocate on behalf of wildlife, wild spaces and clean water in their local areas and within the state.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Imagine Our Florida, Inc. plans to accomplish this via science-based education and the development of appreciation and respect for the natural world and our place within it.
Using IOF's custom designed lesson plans, IOF volunteers encourage critical thinking through exploration and discovery. We make it a fun, hands-on experience while showing people of all ages how to put away their phones and connect with Florida's wildlife and wild spaces. When folks understand the sentient beings with whom we share our state, they learn to respect them, rather than fear them. They begin to realize the importance of the land and water we share.
There are over 20 million Floridians and 113 million annual visitors, all of whom can become voices for our voiceless wildlife. When each of us does our part, no matter how big or small, we can all begin to Imagine Our Florida where we peacefully coexist with our native wild friends.
Connect. Respect. Coexist.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
IOF has a diverse, statewide team of professionals in their fields which bring unique ideas and possibilities to the forefront to continue our mission. IOF offers opportunities for beach cleanups and teaches the importance of recycling on our website, social media and at events. For those who want to advocate on behalf of Florida's wildlife or natural resources, we are prepared to instruct them on how to be most effective.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Imagine Our Florida, Inc. is a grassroots 501(c)(3) educational charity organization founded in 2016. We started with one group teaching in Central Florida. As of 2019, IOF has Educator Teams in South Florida/Miami area, West Coast/Tampa area, Central Florida/Orlando area, South Central Florida/Highland county area and is working on an East Coast/Melbourne area.
When funds are acquired through grants and fundraisers, IOF will launch groundbreaking scientific research using wildlife endocrinology techniques, which will provide a better understanding of human-caused stress in Florida Black Bears and will potentially lead to the proposal of more responsible wildlife management practices.
IOF's mid-term goal is to create, staff, and teach in our state of the art educational center. The center will host school field trips, and welcome Florida residents and tourists from all over the world. We will provide hands-on learning materials, labs where folks can conduct their own experiments, and seminars on how to be an advocate.

- We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
- We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
- We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
