How do I create an account?
To create a GuideStar account, click the Create an Account link on any page of the site and enter your information. There's no charge to create an account and search the GuideStar database for basic nonprofit information.
As part of the account creation process, you'll be asked to agree to the terms of use. You will also receive confirmation by e-mail; follow the instructions in the e-mail to verify your e-mail address.
After you've created your account, you'll have an opportunity to upgrade to GuideStar Premium to get the search, sort, and retrieval tools that are best for you.
How do I sign in?
To sign in, you will need to enter the same e-mail address and password that you entered when you created your GuideStar account. You can access the sign in form from the top left of the page, or anywhere you see a Sign In link.
What if I forgot my password?
If you forgot your password, you can use the Forgot Password link on the Sign In page to request a new password. Enter the e-mail address associated with your GuideStar account on that page, and click Continue; you will receive instructions by e-mail to help you set a new password.
How do I verify my e-mail address?
When you create an account on GuideStar, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with instructions for verifying your e-mail. Follow the instructions provided.
If you no longer have the confirmation e-mail, you can request new verification instructions by visiting the Verify E-mail page.
Why should I verify my e-mail address?
In order to access certain products and services from GuideStar, we ask that you verify your e-mail address. Verifying your e-mail address ensures that only you can access important features of your account, such as paid subscriptions and your nonprofit organization's GuideStar Exchange form. It also ensures that we are able to contact you if there is a problem with your account or your subscriptions.
E-mail verification is not required to access the free search and reporting features of the GuideStar site. However, we recommend you verify your e-mail address as soon as you create your account; once your e-mail address is verified, you'll be able to access all of GuideStar's products and services without additional verification steps.
Zip code is a required field, but I live outside the United States and don't have one. What should I do?
If you are registering a non-United States address, please enter "99999" in the Zip Code box.
