What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
BHS is an open admission shelter with a pet rehoming program that placed over 2500 dogs and cats to date in 2004. We provide spay/neuter to all animals in our care through our inhouse veterinary clinic. We provide low cost spay neuter to low income families and individuals who otherwise would not spay or neuter their animals. We provide public education to area schools and youth groups about proper pet care and training. We have a second chance fund for low income people to funbd euthanasia alternatives. We provide rescue and rehabilitiation for abused and neglected animals in cooperation with State Animal Welfare and area animal control officers
