Our programs

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Artist Residency Programs

Watershed residencies offer extended time in an open-studio setting with other artists, providing space to explore, experiment and reflect. Watershed has something to offer all artists working in clay—from students to established professionals.

Population(s) Served

Watershed offers community firing workshops and guest artist workshops during the spring and fall.

Population(s) Served

For people new to clay, Watershed operates a traveling ceramics education program called “The Mudmobile” (named years ago for a van loaded with clay art class supplies—travel to teaching sites now happens in more energy-efficient vehicles!) Mudmobile instructors are teaching artists trained to bring clay art education programming to diverse sites and populations throughout Maine, including public and private schools, community and cultural centers, social service sites, and senior programs.

Population(s) Served

Watershed offers two signature annual events—Salad Days and the Soup Bowl Supper. Artist talks, weekly campus tours and other special activities are offered during the summer months.

Population(s) Served

Watershed curates and organizes periodic ceramic art exhibitions at venues across the country.
