MLKCC Seeks to honor Dr. King's admonition of service to the community by sponsoring both the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Dennis R. Edwards Memorial Scholarship to deserving high school graduates participating in various worthy community uplift projects and encouraging its members to take roles in numerous civic charitable and cultural endeavors.

Habitat for Humanity seeks sponsorship to build affordable housing for low income individuals. MLKCC was the major sponsor for a home being built by Habitat for Humanity for a single a parent who qualified under their guidelines for qualifying for a home.

MLKCC awarded 11 scholarships to graduating high school students and continued to fund its second chance scholarship for a student enrolled in the local community college to earn an associate degree. The scholarship program includes full tuition for a student interested in attending the local community college for 2 years before transferring to a 4 year university or college.
