The West Medford Community Center Elder Services Program includes comprehensive services to Medford senior citizens, with specific aim of A) Ensuring the ongoing quality of life for the later years of these citizens, B) Contributing to the long-term independence from more extensive (and expensive) public intervention, and C) To provide a "Suite of activities that focus on Senior Health (physical and emotional,) well-being and social engagement. WMCC provides nutritious lunches to local seniors 3x's per week including a partnership with Melrose Wakefield in which we receive donations of 8-10 bags of essential groceries twice monthly shared among our visiting seniors. We've been a useful conduit for alleviating the social isolation that many of our older population have experienced as a result of the ongoing pandemic. We sponsor low impact exercise for seniors 3 days a week. A few other programs include Low Impact Yoga, Knitting, Movies, and West Medford Senior Club live meetings.
