The IHM Music Ministry is a multi-generational ministry that serves all the masses and various liturgies of the parish. Our goal is to lead and enhance the worship of the IHM parish, while having fun, learning and growing together. As a unified musical and spiritual community, we rehearse, pray, and party as one group. We welcome all levels of musical experience and provide strong vocal training. Instruments of all kinds are also welcome.

Reader at Mass
An "awesome" ministry for anyone who will trust in the power of the Holy Spirit, the Reader at Mass proclaims the scriptural readings in the Liturgy. Just as Jesus is fully present in the Eucharist, He is fully present in the Word of God proclaimed (spoken), nourishing those present.

Requirements: full participation in the Catholic faith, a two-session certification training, dedication to prayer, practice, and preparation.

Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion
A spiritually nourishing and healing ministry, the Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion assists the priest and deacon in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Jesus during the Eucharist.

Requirements: full participation in the Catholic faith, a two-session certification training, dedication to prayer and spiritual growth.

Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion to the Sick and Homebound

Additionally, an Extraordinary Minister may bring Holy Communion to the sick in hospitals and the homebound.

This ministry is a gift both given and received. An additional session in certification is required for this.

*** Time commitment, as in all ministries, is worked around personal and family needs.

Description: The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) is a ministry that desires spiritual growth in ourselves and our parish. A dynamic and common denominator is endless enthusiasm about the future of IHM!! We meet the last Tuesday of each month (nothing in July/August) with Father about the short term and long term plans for IHM and its role in renewing its spiritual life as well as meeting our parishioners' needs and hopes. We collaborate with the finance council, parish staff, and other ministries to review and discuss issues of mutual interest and concern. Together with the pastor, we help parishioners embrace the pastoral mission and invite all to be an active participant in its success.

We use the seven elements of parish life as a tangible guide for developing plans and they are the following: Word; Service; Worship; Community; Leadership; Stewardship; and Evangelization. Each and all of these components lead us back to the center of Catholic life, the celebration of the Eucharist.

Each year in May we endeavor to reach out and recruit new members to help us achieve our mission which is the following: "WE THE PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL ARE A REPRESENTATIVE BODY OF THE PARISH WHOSE PURPOSE IS TO ASSIST THE PARISH IN FULFILLING ITS MISSION. AS A CONSULTATIVE BODY TO THE PASTOR, WE PRAYERFULLY AND COLLABORATIVELY DISCERN THE PARISH VISION,DIRECT AND PLANNING; AND WITH THE PASTOR, INVITE PARISHIONERS INTO THAT VISION AND ITS ACCOMPLISHMENT!

Please know that you are important and we value your interest and active participation.

The Warm Meals/Warm Hearts Ministry serves meals for the sick and homebound of the greater Granby/South Hadley community. They are prepared and delivered once a month by parish volunteers. This ministry extends food delivery to the weekends for those who receive meals from the Meals on Wheels Program during the week. We serve over 100 households, bringing not only food but our care and concern for them. Warm Meals/Warm Hearts is always open to volunteers to help shop, prepare food, package meals, and deliver the meals to the homebound.
